This is an introduction to chess for parents and older children who already play chess at home!

We offered chess for kids this summer and had a lot of parents who wanted to learn too, so Robert has agreed to try this class for parents and older children to learn together. This class will meet on 2 consecutive Sundays, for 3 hours each day.

Robert will cover the following topics:

• Chess history

• How to correctly set up the board

• Chess notation

• Basic and special chess moves

• Checkmate, stalemate and draws

• Playing the opening

Play will be included as time permits. Boards and pieces will be provided.
