I am an artist who likes to try new things. I am a potter and a printmaker, but I also love to paint, sew and create artworks from cut and layered paper.

I don’t like to waste materials, so I find ways to use my scraps and reuse my not-so-successful work. After a run of prints, I will create a series of collages with the imperfect prints; after creating pottery, I will make a bunch of beads or tiny sculptures from the leftover scraps.

My work has always been inspired by the natural world. Subject matter leaned towards leaves, flowers and bugs and my goal was to bring the beauty of the natural world, indoors.

After having my own kids, and spending so much time teaching art to kids, I am finding that my purpose for making art is changing. I am drawn to art that is more playful, colorful and sometimes goofy. These days, I just want to create art that makes people smile.
