Laura Dedmond-Whorley

Laura has always had a passion for creativity and artistic expression. Growing up in Prince Edward County, she was enrolled in gifted art classes throughout grades K–12. During this time, she discovered not only her own love for the arts but also an enjoyment in helping others learn how to use different artistic mediums.

In 2003, Laura enrolled in the Fine Arts Program at Longwood University. While there, she explored a wide variety of creative fields through courses in drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry-making, and photography. She completed her studies in 2008, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Art History and an endorsement in Visual Arts Education K–12.

Following graduation, Laura dedicated 12 years to teaching art, where she inspired elementary and middle school students to express themselves through creativity. She also gained hands-on experience in the food and beverage industry, spending several years as a cake decorator and exploring the culinary arts further.

Today, Laura continues her career in the food and beverage industry while keeping her artistic passion alive. In her free time, she creates through free painting, drawing in various media, and jewelry making. Her combined experience in education, creativity, and customer-focused industries has equipped her with excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
