Come join us on Sunday afternoons in October for this four session course, where you will learn how to build Gnomes out of wire and wool. First, you’ll make a little Gnome ( approx 6” tall) with the traditional long beard, and oversized hat covering his eyes. You’ll also start your larger Gnome (up to 12” tall including hat) at the same time, applying each step from start to finish. You’ll can make him just like your little Gnome, same style and techniques, and if you’d like to add the eyes and facial features, you will be led through the process step-by-step.
This class is designed to teach comprehensive skills, rather than only to create a pair of Gnomes to take home. Each class begins with detailed instructions and practicing of a new technique. You will create an armature, and build your figures using a technique called needle felting. Your Gnome will blossom as you choose your colors for clothing and details from a large assortment of beautiful wool and fabric scraps. You will be able to take your piece home each week to work on further, if you like, and Annie will be available via text if you have any mid-week questions.
When our last class comes to a close, you’ll have two new Gnomes to introduce to your family and friends.Best of all, you will be taking home an entire set of new skills! There will also be options to take home additional materials.
