Have you ever dropped a cherished bowl and watched it shatter into pieces, thinking it was ruined forever? What if there was a way to put it back together that didn’t just fix it but made it even more stunning than before? That’s the beauty of Kintsugi, Japan’s art of broken pottery. This ancient practice dating back to the 15th century, turns cracks and breaks into golden highlights, celebrating the story behind each imperfection. It’s like giving your pottery a second life, one that’s richer and more meaningful.
For this workshop, bring in a broken piece that you would like to put back together. If you don’t have one and simply want to learn the technique for future broken pieces, we will have bowls/plates that you are welcome to break and repair!
