Junk Bots quickly became a favorite project in our weekly kids’ classes and summer camps! Over the years, we’ve been noticing some adults who seem like they want to join in on the fun, so we are offering this Family Friendly Workshop… open to adults with kids of all ages!

Our Junk Bots start with a colorful block of wood with holes drilled for eyes, arms, legs and antennas. Students will choose from a variety of screws, nails, washers, nuts, and other junky bits to create their robot’s body parts and then get to work using pliers and screwdrivers to bring their bot to life!

This is a great problem solving activity as students will have to figure out what size and what type of fastener will work best. Students will learn simple woodworking terms and how to use basic woodworking tools in the process. The goal is to use only junk and no glue, but we usually have to pull out the E600 for the really tricky ones.

We have helped create some really amazing bots over the years… Snake-Bots, Unicorn Bots, Pig, Sheep and Tiger-Bots and even a Loch-Ness-Monster-Bot!

Come solo, or bring along a child or friend. This would be a really cool workshops for parents (or grandparents) and kids to do together! Ideally, children come with an adult that can help them through the process. Family pricing will be offered.

This is also available as a private party. Just gather 6 friends for your own Junk Bot Party anytime!
