This weekly class is designed for older kids who want to improve their skills and further explore their own ideas. Like the Art Exploration Class, students will have the opportunity to work with many different types of materials and explore drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, sculpture and mixed media art.
There will still be an emphasis on improving drawing techniques and applying the elements of art, but students in this class will be given a little more freedom in choosing materials and subject matter. The goal of this class is to help students find their artistic voice, to start developing their own style and body of work.
Students who choose to take this class, should be able to sit and concentrate on their artwork for the full 2 hours without disturbing other students.
Students will have access to studio supplies as long as they can be respectful and use them properly.
This class meets every Wednesday from 4:30-6:30pm. Fall semester runs from September 2nd through December 22nd and Spring semester from January through May.
Only 10 seats are available per class. When registering your child, we greatly appreciate a commitment for the whole semester. If a student no longer wishes to continue with classes, their seat will then be given to another student on our waiting list.
When space is available in the class, we do welcome new students to try the class out for a month before committing to the full semester.
Tuition will be invoiced on the 20th of each month and is due by the first of the following month. We do offer a 15% discount when registering multiple students.

PARKING
Red Door 104 does not have designated parking spaces available. Please use street parking or community parking lots to drop off your students. We ask that you refrain from parking or dropping off students from the parking lot behind the building. These spaces are reserved for the surrounding businesses and vehicles may be towed at the owner’s expense.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
We DO follow local school systems for inclement weather decisions. If you are unsure about whether or not your class is proceeding as scheduled, please contact your instructor at reddoor104art@gmail.com or 434-392-1405 prior to coming to the studio.
CANCELLATIONS
We do not give refunds for missed classes, scheduling conflicts, no shows, illnesses, etc. Make-up classes can be arranged in the event RD104 cancels a class. If the student does miss a class, we may make arrangements to attend a different weekly class depending how soon we’re notified. Please contact reddoor104art@gmail.com or 434-392-1405. If for any reason Red Door 104 has to cancel a class, a make-up date and time will be arranged by the class instructor.
Even if a student is absent, they still occupy that reservation which prohibits others from enrolling. Sufficient enrollment is necessary to sustain programs.
CELL PHONE POLICY
Students are allowed to use a cell phone for reference photos only, if phones become an issue they will be requested to not be brought to class.
