Dates: July 13-16, 2026

Time: 9am-2pm

Ages: 8+

Cost: $200 for 4-day camp (add Friday’s Intro to Chess Camp for $65)

Day 1:  We’ll design and create the traditional style shadow puppet, often used in Indonesian puppet theater, and with a rich history spanning over 2000 years.

Day 2:  We’ll make shadow puppets out of nothing but our hands, and learn ways to embellish them to make them more realistic. 

Day 3:  We’ll create glowing, jewel toned puppets that suddenly bring splashes of color to the traditional black and white world of shadow theater.

Day 4:  We’ll have fun with kinetic paper art that can entertain on its own, or happily join the other shadow puppets on stage. 

Each day will include practice time, and short plays created by the participants.  The puppet stage at Red Door 104 is ready for your creations!!

*We work hard and play hard during our summer camps! Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes as we will go outside to eat and run around on the lawn next door. Also, please be sure to bring a water bottle, snack and lunch each day. Refrigeration is available.If you have a teen interested in signing up for this specialized experience, please let us know.
