The Art of Gevorg Tadevosyan

From Armenia to America: Artist in Residence Shares their Art with Farmville!

Beginning October 21, 2017, Red Door 104 Art Gallery will be displaying the art of Armenian artist Gevorg [pronounced: kev-ork] Tadevosyan! Gevorg is currently an Artist in Residence at Longwood University and recently completed an exhibition of his work in Paris, France prior to coming to the United States in August of this year. We are very excited and pleased to have his artwork in our gallery!

The Tadevosyan exhibit will open with a reception in the Gallery on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 6 - 8pm with light refreshments served. The exhibition will continue through November 10, 2017, and will be open to the public for viewing during the gallery's regular business hours (Monday thru Friday, 10am - 5pm).

Gevorg describes his drawings as "like the passages of a work by Bach - detailed in one place and bold and heavy in the next." He believes that his two-dimensional art is a major part of his journey where his creativity is reaching a new level.

Mr. Tadevsoyan studied at the Yerevan State Art College and The State Academy of Fine Arts in Armenia. He has worked at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, teaching children with physical and mental disabilities and then as a teacher at the National Center of Aesthetics in Yerevan. His award-winning artwork has been displayed extensively in Armenia, as well as in Moscow and France where many of his sculptures are publicly displayed.
