Eunice Carwile has a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College and a Master’s in English Literature from Longwood University. She has been “playing” with calligraphy off-and-on since 1995. Formerly a member of the Washington Calligraphers’ Guild, she learned through workshops conducted by such noted calligraphers as Sheila and Julian Waters. She now belongs to and is learning with the Triangle Calligraphers’ Guild of North Carolina, and has given individual instruction and demonstrations, as well as teaching a beginner’s class. Most of her work in calligraphy consists of presentation pieces, although she has been known to address a few envelopes.
